FREQUENTLY ASKED DENTAL QUESTIONS – ASHWAUBENON, WI

Ask Your Ashwaubenon Dentist

We love answering patient questions! That’s because we not only like talking about dentistry, but the more a person knows when it comes to their dental care, the healthier they usually are. That’s why you’re always welcome to ask us questions, and below, we’ve gone ahead and answered some of the most common ones we receive below.

How often should I visit the dentist?

Ideally, you should visit a dentist at least twice a year for a checkup and cleaning, but it’s also important that you schedule an appointment if you’re experiencing any pain or other out-of-the-ordinary symptoms, like sensitivity. This proactive approach allows our team to take care of small problems before they become major ones.

Is flossing really that important?

Yes! Flossing is just as important as brushing when it comes to preventing decay and cavities. That’s because flossing cleans the areas between your teeth that your brush can’t reach. You only need to floss once in the evening, which takes about a minute, and this daily practice can save you from having to spend a lot of time (and money) in the dental chair getting something fixed.

How long will it take to fix my tooth?

In most cases, we can repair a broken or decayed tooth in a single appointment. We can place a tooth-colored filling relatively quickly, and thanks to our CEREC machine, we can make and place 100% custom porcelain crowns in about an hour or two as well.

How is a dentist qualified to treat sleep apnea?

The primary symptoms of sleep apnea occur in the upper respiratory tract and mouth, two areas of the body that dentists are very familiar with. This gives them the knowledge and skills they need to provide oral appliances that open up the airway to help a patient breathe better at night and stop snoring.

Will you take my dental insurance?

Our office accepts most major forms of dental insurance, including Delta Dental, Aetna, Guardian, Cigna, United/UMR, and MetLife. To learn more about your specific coverage and in-network benefits, give our front desk a call at 920-499-2121.

What are other ways I can pay for my dental care without insurance?

You can sign up for our Smile More Membership Plan, which offers many of the same benefits as dental insurance at a lower price, or you can break up the cost of your treatment into smaller installments with CareCredit financing. To learn more about your payment options with us, you can always give us a call.
